This rare Japanese Clematis is unique in that it produces fully double, 4-6” flowers both times that it blooms during the season, first in early summer and again in early fall.  Though its name implies that the flowers are true red, most people would describe the color as magenta.  Either way, it is a showstopper when in bloom!
