Sedum sieboldii, also known as October Daphne or Hylotelephium sieboldii, is a herbaceous perennial succulent plant that belongs to the Crassulaceae family. It is native to Japan, and it grows up to 6-8 inches tall and spreads up to 12-24 inches wide. Sedum sieboldii is a low-growing, mat-forming plant that features fleshy, round blue-green leaves that grow in whorls along its stems. In late summer to early fall, it produces flat clusters of pink to light purple star-shaped flowers that rise above its foliage, attracting bees and butterflies to the garden. Sedum sieboldii is a drought-tolerant and low-maintenance plant that is often used in rock gardens, border plantings, and container plantings. It prefers well-draining soil and full sun to partial shade, and it is generally easy to grow.
