A Cottage Garden for Cut Flowers
Bring the outside in by planting a cutting garden. Buy
selecting plants that bloom at different times of the
year so that you can enjoy fresh cut flowers from
Spring until Frost. Many flowers are also suitable for
drying so, even during Winter; your home can have a
reminder of seasons past.
The following design is suitable for a sunny location and
will cover an area approximately
30 ft. x 10 ft. Before planting, prepare the garden bed by
using 1/3 organic matter, 1/3 sand and 1/3 existing
soil. Add
5-10-5 fertilizer at the recommended rate, and at the
time of planting, use Upstart to stimulate new root
development.
